Antioxidants are substances that can neutralize free radicals that can occur as a result of chemical reactions in the body. Exhaust and chimney fumes that cause environmental pollution, drug residues, chemicals in the air, additives in food increase our antioxidant need day by day.

Vitamins A, E, C, Selenium, Beta-carotene, Flavonoids, Zinc, Lycopene are among the most known antioxidants. Antioxidants are artificially added to some foodstuffs. However, it is very important to get natural antioxidants from vegetables and fruits for a healthy diet.

Some foods with antioxidant effects:
- Aromatic herbs such as rosemary, thyme, sage, clove, black pepper, turmeric
- Blueberry, strawberry, raspberry, apricot, goji berry
Vegetables such as spinach, beets, artichokes, cabbage, carrots
- Nuts such as hazelnuts, sunflower seeds, almonds, peanuts

Antioxidants have many benefits such as preventing cancer formation, rejuvenating the skin, protecting against joint and muscle disorders, increasing brain functions, and protecting the nervous system.
