DO I NEED A CERTIFICATE?

Any Cosmetics and Perfumery Products covered by the Saudi Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) require a mandatory Certificate of Conformity to pass through Saudi Customs. Related products and companies must meet the following requirements.

LAWS, REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS

Cosmetics and Perfumery Products must meet the Standards and other Requirements mandated by the SFDA.

Cosmetics and Perfumery Products for the Saudi market will comply with the requirements of GSO 1943/2016 “Safety Requirements for Cosmetics and Personal Care Products” and GSO 2528/2016 “Technical Regulation on Cosmetic and Personal Care Products Claims”. ”.

Key Cosmetic and Perfume products regulatory requirements include:
  • Compliance with GSO 1943 (Cosmetic Safety) and GSO 2528 (Cosmetic Product Claims)
  • Absence of pork or its derivatives in the products
  • Labeling must be in Arabic
  • Medical claims should not be allowed
  • Product images and advertising materials should not be contrary to social customs
  • Features related to alcohol-based products: no alcohol in mouthwash, special classification for alcohol-based hand sanitizers
