The Turkish Food Codex Seafood Regulation establishes classification, hygiene, and labeling rules, while the Microbiological Criteria Regulation sets limits to protect against pathogenic risks. The Contaminants Regulation defines maximum residue limits for heavy metals. The Residue Limits Regulation covers antibiotic and veterinary drug residues. International analysis and certification are mandatory for export and import processes.

Aquatic products are an extremely beneficial and reliable food group when obtained from appropriate sources and analyzed correctly.
